Of course, talking to real people is always the best way to practice English, but for many reasons that’s not always possible. Online websites and mobile apps, are, in general, much more available and easy to use.

But which ones are best? In today’s online world, there are so many English learning apps and websites that claim to have the best speaking/TOEFL/Reading app or whatever. It’s impossible to know which ones are good and worth your time/money and which ones

are scams!

但是哪些app是最好的呢？我感觉几乎每天都会有各种新的英语学习 app出现在应用商店中，还有各种新出现的网站宣称要解决一切口语、托福、阅读等等问题。很难知道哪些好、哪些根本就是在浪费时间。

I’ve been teaching English for a LONNNGGG time. The following websites/apps are the ones that I ALWAYS recommend to my students when they first start learning. I’ve used all of them myself (and still do!) and can vouch for their effectiveness. And most importantly, they’re all free!

Anki生词卡片APP

当有人问我如何扩大词汇量时，我必须推荐Anki这个词卡app。用iPhone的同学比较惨、要交150块钱——但我觉得真的非常值得！我第一次想买的时候有点犹豫，但最后决定下下来试试，至今一直都没后悔过！用安卓的同学就太幸福了，完全免费！这个app用一个间隔重复系统给你显示该学习或复习的词卡，这样能确保你根本不会浪费时间复习不用复习的东西。我觉得目前还没有任何app可以跟Anki比。虽然界面很简单，但是从算法来看，我觉得是最高效的词卡软件。另外，Anki的网站有很多免费的用户做的生词包，包含了各种例句和该学习的词汇！

(Warning!%20Shameless%20self-plug!)%20This%20app%20is%20something%20I%20use%20a%20lot%20to%20give%20free%20English%20streams%20on.%20There%20are%20a%20few%20paid%20features%20(optional),%20like%20getting%20a%20private%20teacher/paid%20lecture%20and%20such,%20but%20there%20are%20a%20lot%20of%20free%20things%20such%20as%20articles%20and%20videos%20created%20by%20English%20teachers%20that%20are%20great%20for%20practicing%20your%20English.%20For%20those%20wanting%20some%20cheap%20authentic%20speaking%20practice,%20this%20is%20a%20great%20app.

There%20are%20lots%20of%20apps%20that%20‘loop’%20video%20or%20audio,%20but%20I%20think%20Speater%20is%20the%20most%20user%20friendly%20one.%20There%20are%20versions.%20Speater%20and%20Speater%20Lite.%20You%20only%20need%20the%20functions%20from%20Speater%20Lite%20which%20is%20free!%20First,%20find%20a%20clip%20from%20a%20video%20or%20piece%20of%20audio%20that%20you%20like/want%20to%20emulate%20and%20upload%20it%20to%20the%20app.%20Then%20you%20can%20use%20the%20app’s%20features%20to%20repeat,%20rewind,%20slow%20down,%20or%20speed%20up%20the%20clip%20and%20listen%20to%20it%20as%20many%20times%20as%20you%20want!%20This%20is%20an%20AMAZING%20way%20to%20get%20the%20feel%20for%20how%20English%20sounds%20and%20to%20practice%20speaking%20with%20a%20native%20accent.

我经常强调跟读、模仿的重要性，而且做这种训练的时候，有很多复读机app可以让这一切更方便。其实任何“复读机”app都可以用，但我觉得Speater是其中最好的app%20之一（只有iPhone版）。Speater有付费版和Speater%20Lite免费版，个人感觉免费版就可以！

复读机该怎么用呢？首先你可以选择任何视频或音频上传到app上；然后你可以选择文件里的任何片段进行重复、放慢、加快等等，不断地听和练习。分析你自己说的跟音频有什么区别，可以让你迅速提高口语和听力！

这个网站就是个大数据库，可惜还没有app，但是能在这个网站上看到很多母语者造的句子。输入你想学习的单词，就会弹出很多很好的例句。很适合在想了解一个词怎么用、需要做卡片例句的时候用。而且很多句子都配有母语者的语音示范！

Like%20the%20above%20site,%20but%20Forvo%20is%20focused%20on%20individual%20words%20instead%20of%20complete%20sentences.%20Great%20to%20check%20the%20pronunciation%20of%20certain%20words%20when%20you’re%20a%20little%20unsure%20of%20what%20they%20sound%20like.%20Most%20of%20the%20words%20have%20pronunciations%20from%20both%20male%20and%20female%20users%20in%20several%20different%20accents%20so%20don’t%20worry%20about%20only%20getting%20American%20pronunciation%20if%20you%20want%20to%20study%20British%20English,%20or%20vice%20versa.%20They%20have%20more%20than%20just%20English%20too!

跟tatoeba有点像，%20Forvo可以查任何一个词，然后就能听到不同母语者读该词的语音示范。大部分的单词至少有美国和英国男女的朗读示范，这样不管你学美式英语还是英式英语，都可以听到不同母语者的示范、熟悉不同的口音。
