One day down on the farm,
有一天，在农场里，
Duck got a wild idea,
鸭子冒出一个疯狂的主意，
"I bet I could ride a bike!"he thought.
“我打赌我会骑车。”
He waddled over to wherethe boy
parked his bike,
他一摇一摆地走到男孩停着的自行车旁，
climbed on, and began to ride.

At first he rode very slowly,
开始他骑得很慢，
and he wobbled a lot, but it was fun!

Duck rode past Cow
鸭子骑过母牛身旁，
and waved to her.
冲她招了招手。
"Hello, Cow!" said Duck.
“你好，母牛！”鸭子说。
"M-o-o-o," said Cow.
“哞——”母牛应了一声。
But what she thought was,
可她心里想的是：
"A duck on a bike?
“一只鸭子在骑车？
That's the silliest thing I've ever seen!"
这可是我见过最愚蠢的事！”
Then Duck rode past Sheep.
鸭子骑过绵羊身边。
"Hello, Sheep!" said Duck.
“你好，绵羊！”鸭子说。
"B-a-a-a," said Sheep.
“咩！”绵羊应了一声。
But what she thought was,
可她心里想的是：
"He's going to hurt himself if he's not careful!"
“如果他不注意会受伤的！”
Duck was riding better now.
现在鸭子骑得好多了。
He rode past Dog,
他骑过狗的身边。
"Hello, Dog!" said Duck.
“你好，狗！”鸭子说。
"Woof!"said Dog.
“汪！”狗应了一声。
But what he thought was,
可他心里想的是：
"That is a mighty neat trick!"
“这可是真功夫呀！”
Then Duck rode past Cat.
鸭子骑过猫身边。
"Hello, Cat!" said Duck.
“你好，猫！”鸭子说。
"Meow," said Cat.
“喵——”猫应了一声。
But what she thought was,
可她心里想的是：
"I wouldn't waste my time riding a bike!"
“我才不会浪费时间去骑车呢！”
Duck pedaled a little faster.
鸭子蹬得快了一点。
He rode past Horse.
他骑过马身边。
"Hello, Horse!" said Duck.
“你好，马！”鸭子说。
"Ne-e-e-igh!" said Horse.
“嘶——”马应了一声。
But what he thought was,
可他心里想的是：
"You're still not as fast as me, Duck!"
“你还是没我快，鸭子！”
Duck rang his bell
鸭子一边按铃
as he rode toward Chicken.
一边朝母鸡骑过去。
"Hello, Chicken!" said Duck.
“你好，母鸡！”鸭子说。
"Cluck! Cluck!"said Chicken.
“咯咯！”母鸡应了一声。
But what she thought was,
可她心里想的是：
"Watch where you're going , Duck!"
“你看着点路，鸭子！”
Then Duck rode past Goat.
鸭子骑过山羊身边。
"Hello, Goat!" said Duck.
“你好，山羊！”鸭子说。
"M-a-a-a" said Goat.
“呣——”山羊应了一声。
But what he thought was,
可他心里想的是：
"I'd like to eat that bike!"
“我想吃那辆车子！”
Duck stood on the seat
鸭子单脚站到车座上
and rode past Pig and Pig.
骑过猪和猪崽身边。
"Hello, Pigs!" said Duck.
“你好，猪！” 鸭子说。
"Oink," said Pig and Pig.
“呼噜——”猪和猪崽应了一声。
But what they thought was,
可他心里想的是：
"Duck is such a show-off!"
“鸭子真爱出风头！”
Then Duck rode no-hands past Mouse.
鸭子撒开车把经过老鼠身边。
"Hello, Mouse!" said Duck.
“你好，老鼠！” 鸭子说。
"Squeak," said Mouse.
“吱——”老鼠应了一声。
But what he thought was,
可他心里想的是：
"I wish I could ride a bike just like Duck."
“我真想像鸭子那样骑车！”
Suddenly, a whole bunch of kids
忽然，一大群孩子
came down the road on bikes.
骑着自行车冲下路来。
They were in such a hurry
他们骑得特别快，
that they didn't see Duck.
谁也没有看到鸭子。
They parked their bikes by the house
他们把车停在门前
and went inside.
就进屋去了。
Now all the animals had bikes!
现在，所有的动物都有自行车骑了!
They rode around and around the barnyard.
他们在谷仓旁边的空地上骑来骑去。
"This is fun!" they all said.
“真好玩！”他们异口同声地说
"Good idea, Duck!"
“鸭子，你的主意真棒！”
Then they put the bikes back
by the house.
他们把自行车放回屋旁。
And no one knew that on that afternoon,
没有人知道，那天下午，
there had been a cow,a sheep,
曾经有一头母牛、一只绵羊、
a dog, a cat, a horse,
一只狗、一只猫、一匹马、
a chicken, a goat, two pigs,
一只母鸡、一只山羊、两头猪、
a mouse, and a duck on a bike.
一只老鼠和一只鸭子骑过自行车。
