Hats On Top is a beautifully designed four-level course for very young children. The central characters are the Hat People, a fun and friendly family who guide children through their first encounters with English. Hats On Top is based on the concept that children come to the classroom with a great deal of world knowledge, and has strong links to key development areas and school readiness. [1] [3]
Learning and exploration are supported and extended digitally through the Discovery Disc, where children can play games read interactive stories and dance along with the Hat People to interactive songs. For teachers, there is the Interactive Classroom CD-ROM containing a Digibook version of the Student Book for whole-class presentation, and a new website containing a wealth of resources. [1] [3]

Caroline Linse,教材作者,美国哈佛大学教育硕士、博士 。国际顶级第二语言幼教专家。曾在韩国、墨西哥、中欧、东欧、美国、美属萨摩亚群岛任教。 [1]
Caroline Linse has been a teacher, teacher educator, materials developer, researcher and language advocate for many years. She began her career as a kindergarten teacher in Mexico City and since then has been fortunate to have worked with learners and teachers in the USA (including rural Alaska), American Samoa, the Baltic Republics, Belarus, Korea and Northern Ireland. In addition, she has given workshops in many other countries including Bahrain, Oman, Taiwan, China, Ukraine, Peru, Guatemala, and Tunisia.
Caroline has co-authored several Macmillan preschool course books with Elly Schottman. Her materials feature developmentally appropriate language rich activities aimed to delight both young learners and their teachers!
She received her doctorate in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. [1]

多元智能理论由美国发展心理学家霍华德·加德纳教授在研究了不同对象的人脑与智能的基础上,修正了传统的智能概念,提出人类有八种智能类型:语言智能、音乐智能、数学逻辑智能、视觉空间智能、身体运动智能、人际关系智能、自我认识智能、自然观察者智能。多元智能理论自 1983年霍华德·加德纳提出之后,一直是专家学者们的研究热点。多元智能理论在当今世界教育改革中的地位越来越重要,对教育改革实践的积极影响已经越来越被我国教育工作者认识。 [5]

在跨学科研究一个世纪的发展过程中,关于跨学科的概念也经历了多次的变化,其概念本身也不断充实不断完整。2005 年,美国国家科学院、国家工程院等单位联合发布的《促进跨学科研究》报告提出:“跨学科研究是一种经由团队或个人整合来自两个或多个学科(专业知识领域)的信息、材料、技巧、工具、视角、概念和/或理论来加强对那些超越单一学科界限或学科实践范围的问题的基础性理解,或是为它们寻求解决之道。”学者曼西利亚也提出了大致相近的定义,但他同时强调在其定义中所突出的跨学科研究的三个特性,即意图性、学科性和整合性。
